Lunch Box at Great Malvern Priory runs October to April on alternate Thursday lunchtimes, 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm, with music or talk starting at 1 pm.

Autumn in Malvern Festival, mainly October, some of September. Music, talks, exhibitions and more.

Immediate area
Three Counties Showground Just south of Malvern. Specific gardening, dogs, ponies, antiques, cars and such shows, plus the usual countryside types. RHS Malvern Spring Festival, in May (2024: 9th to 12th) is the first in the RHS gardening calendar. Malvern Autumn Show (Gardening and Food, 2024: 27th to 29th Sept) rounds off the season. Also CountryTastic, indoor event day for kids up to 14, 2024: 28th March.
Flea fairs and antique fairs put on at the showground by B2B Events.
Three Choirs Festival July/August classical music bash, orchestral as well as choral, with maybe a bit of jazz. The oldest musical festival in Europe (noted as a ‘yearly Musical Assembly’ in 1719). Rotates between Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester. 2024: Worcester, 27th July to 3rd August.
Welland Steam and Country Rally, Woodside Farm, Welland. 2024: 26th to 28th July. Phone 01531 890417 or 890762. Organised by Ross-on-Wye Steam Engine Society.
West
Big Apple Weekend. 2024: 12th/13th October. Celebrating the apple harvest and all things apple. Loads of events, around Much Marcle area. There’s usually a bike ride on the Sunday along the Ledbury Cider Trail route.
Blossom time with The Big Apple, Usually first weekend in May (2024: Sunday/Monday 5th/6th May). Cider tasting at Putley Village Hall, cider and perry trials same weekend.
Daffodil Weekend at Kempley – check daffs.org.uk. Guided walks, teas etc. 2024: 16th/17th March, .
Daffodil Weekend at Dymock. 2024: 31st/1st April, refreshments at village hall both days (note that detailed info on other activities can be difficult to find on the web). Daffodil Teas at local church available 11am to 4pm for “the season”, in 2024: 1st March to 7th April (except 31st March/1st April, when refreshments are in the Parish Hall).
Oxenhall Daffodil Weekend, south of Kempley. The weekend before or after Kempley – 2024: 23rd to 24th March.
There are various events during the year at Eastnor Castle.
Ledbury Poetry Festival June/July. 2024: 28th June to 7th July.
The Nest, Little Verzons Farm, Hereford Road, Ledbury HR8 2PZ has cafe and wide range of local produce. Various small events, monthly art exhibitions. The annual NestFest may return.
Much Marcle Steam Rally Rye Meadows, Much Marcle. Includes steam ploughing. 2024: 20th/21st July, with local crafts and produce.
Hellens Manor is an interesting very old manor house, worth a visit by itself – historic but still a family home, in Much Marcle:

- Hellens Garden Festival “passion for plants and the planet”. 2024: 8th/9th June.
North
Bromyard Folk Festival September. 2024: 5th to 8th.
Bromyard International Town Criers Festival on May Day bank holiday. 2022: 30th April.
Bromyard Gala has been “postponed” to 2025. Usually held June, should have some steam attractions.
Nozstock Rowden Paddocks, Bromyard, HR7 4LS. 2024 is going to be the last outing for this popular festival: 18th to 21st July . A range of music, from bluegrass to electronica and beyond.
Tenbury Wells Holly and Mistletoe Auctions, Tuesdays before Christmas. Phone 01584 810555. See Tenbury Mistletoe Festival site. Main date is first Saturday in December, National Mistletoe Day.
Tenbury Wells Applefest. 2023: 7th October. With street entertainment, crafts.

Worcester Music Festival September. 2024: 13th to 15th. Focus is on promoting local music, but with wider contributions too.

Upton-upon-Severn Folk Festival May Bank Holiday, 2024: 3rd to 6th May.
Upton-upon-Severn Jazz Festival late June, 2024: 28th to 30th.
Upton Blues Festival July, 2024: 19th to 21st. In and around various pubs and streets, free!
Upton Sunshine Music Festival. August bank holiday. 2024: 22nd to 25th. Mainly old rock and pop music?
Pershore Plum Festival Main event August Bank Holiday Monday, plus Farmers Market, Town Centre, 10am to 3pm. Also events throughout August. Contact 01386 565373.
Fladbury Walkabout (between Pershore and Evesham). Flower festival, refreshments, boat trips, music and more. 2022: 2nd/3rd July.
Asparagus Festival Events mainly at The Fleece Inn, Bretforton, east of Evesham, but also elsewhere, late May/early June.
Tewkesbury Medieval Festival 2024: 13th/14th July.
South
Newent Onion Fayre takes over the centre of town for the day. The biggest single-day festival in Gloucestershire apparently – there’s music, exhibitions, entertainment, food and drink as well as onion related competitions and displays, etc. 2022 was cancelled – usually September.
Linton Music Festival A village in between Newent and Ross has a music festival on the weekend nearest to midsummer day, in the grounds of the Alma Inn. 2022: 1st to 3rd July.
Ross-on-Wye Cider Festival at Broome Farm. August/September. 2024: 30th Aug to 1st September. Due to popularity, book in advance, and/or check website for other possible summer weekend events at Broome Farm.
Ross-on-Wye Beer and Cider Festival . 2024: 4th/5th May.
Around Hereford and county
Borderlines Film Festival brings the best of international cinema to Herefordshire. 2024: 1st to 7th March. Malvern Theatres has joined in, and also at The Courtyard and venues in Ledbury, Ross, Gorsley and elsewhere in the county. Phone 01432 344039.

Beer on the Wye, a Hereford Camra event, featuring local cider and perry too. 2024: 12th to 14th July. Riverside Marquee at Hereford Rowing Club, Hereford, HR4 0BE, with camping available ‘next door’.
Down on the Farm Music Festival Run by Gwatkin Cider, at Abbeydore, in August.
Wye Valley River Festival, various events from Ross to Chepstow. “Innovative artistic work linked to environmental issues”. Held every two years – 2024: 3rd to 12th May. Facebook page.
Wye Valley Chamber Music runs some events in Hereford, St Briavels (near Forest of Dean), Much Marcle (Hellens) in September. The connected Winter Chamber Music Festival (2023: 11th to 19th February) has been going since 2000. Wye Valley (St Briavels) Music Society calendar may be worth checking out, too.
Herefordshire Art Week, September. 2024: 7th to 15th. Likely to include various galleries/displays in Ledbury,along with others featuring jewellery, furniture, ceramics. (For galleries in Malvern, see our Creative Malvern page.)

Ludlow Marches Food and Drink Festival, 2024: 13th to 15th September. There’s a connected foodie walk – Magnalonga in August (2024: 11th) – an 8 mile walk through the countryside surrounding Ludlow with a course of food at each stop (vegetarian option on request).
