Cycle parking

Here's a GPX file of cycle racks around town. Numbers indicate maximum capacity.

In Great Malvern, there are cycle racks at

Otherwise there are limited places to lock a bike - possibly on Belle Vue Terrace near the spring/statue, but don't quote us on that! Plus racks at Great Malvern and Malvern Link stations - the ones at Great Malvern are better and under cover, plus there are also cycle lockers here for which you need to see ticket office staff.

And there are some racks in Malvern Link shopping area, at Co-op, Lidl and Focus DIY (plus two sets near post office and on Richmond Road which are difficult to use). Also at Victoria Park and at Townsend Way retail park.

There aren't any cycle parking facilities at Three Counties Showground, but it is possible to find wooden stake type fencing which should be OK (although you may struggle with getting D-Locks round the posts).

For cycle racks on Malvern Hills, see Cycling Around page.

(The cycle parking map on Worcs County Council cycling pages, June 06, is incomplete and inaccurate. Don't bother with it.)

Cycle paths

Currently two:

See Cycle Malvern for planned or proposed routes.

Map

Malvern Walk / Cycle from Worcestershire County Council. Spring 08 edition has been improved over the March 07 version. Fairly complete, but only rough position, of bike racks in town and the two dedicated cycle paths. The other bridleways shown on the Hills and commons may really only be for off-road bikes and not particularly helpful - I'd use Harvey's Superwalker (see Cycling around Malvern page) for the Hills. Also highlights places of interest etc. The 'recommended routes for/by cyclists' marked in pink are variable in pleasantness and hilliness but do indicate some of the possibilities. They've still got far too many signalled pedestrian crossing marked as 'toucan' though (toucan = joint pedestrian/cyclist facility which require special lights and/or road features). Available to download in pdf format, 1.53MB, useful for on-screen but this won't be easy to print out..
